Second Class Mrs Coleman
A letter to Second Class
Dear 2nd Class,
Thank you all again for the excellent work you sent on during the week. I have really appreciated all your effort. One of the most enjoyable parts has been seeing photos of yourselves and how you have blossomed during your time at home. Smiling, healthy faces full of joy!
I enjoyed reading some of your diary entries this past week, of all the different events that happened during the year. Little did we know how our year would be interrupted! You have all adapted so brilliantly and that is a great test of your characters. You all deserve a big 'buladh bos!’
We still have our First Confession and First Holy Communion to look forward to. Those sacraments will be even more special when the time comes. Like I mentioned some months ago, you are unique. No other class has had these special days postponed before.
I would like to thank all the wonderful parents for your great support throughout the year. It has been a trying few months for many of you trying to keep the show on the road. I really understand how challenging it has been. You have all done your best! As psychologist Jean Piaget says:
‘Play is the work of childhood.’
I believe our children have had more opportunity to play with scheduled events and after school activities being cancelled. We can all learn a valuable lesson from these past few months.
I hope you all enjoy the summer holidays and I look forward to seeing you all very soon.
