Children enjoying the new playground which has been created at the back of the school. It has a rubber surface and hopefully we will be able to add some playground markings and an activity centre in the future.
Lissivigeen NS is currently part of an Erasmus project called "A Digital Journey in Europe". This involves teachers from around Europe looking at the way IT is used in schools with a view to learning from each other and finding new and inovative ways to incorporate IT into the curriculum in the future. On 29th & 30th of September there was great excitement in the school as a group of 28 visiting teachers and lectures from various universities across Europe arrived at our school.
The children welcomed our guests with greetings in Irish, Danish, Finish and Italian in the hall and our guests were treated to a tin whistle concert, singing and Irish dancing. This was our first time having international visitors to our school and it was a very positive experience. Thanks to all the pupils, staff and parents association for their help in making this Erasmus visit such as success. For more details on the project, the website is 'A digital Journey in Europe'.

The competition explores the issue of climate change and climate justice.
Last week we held a handwriting competition in school. All the children participated and the results were very impressive. Here is a picture of all the handwriting prize winners along with our Principal, Mr. McAullife and Board of Management Chairperson Seamus Clifford.
Congratulations and well done to all.
We are very proud of our Hurlling Team, who represented the school at a recent tournament in Rathmore. Well done to all the team.
